Spouse
The Spousal Sponsorship program is designed to reunite Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada with their spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner. In this class, the immigrating life partners may apply for an Open Work Permit and our team can help with that process as well. They can also apply for Permanent Residency in Canada as long as they are at least 16 years of age and not too closely related to the sponsor.
- prove that you are at least 18 years of age
- prove that you are legally married to your spouse, or
- prove that you have been living together as a couple, in a conjugal relationship for a continuous, uninterrupted 12-month period with your common-law partner, or
- be unable to qualify for common-law status due to barriers of time and space criteria, and exceptional circumstances, yet still be partners in a relationship of the opposite sex or same sex with your conjugal partner
